De Los Santos is missing. I posted an inquiry on the notice board. I hope someone will have met him on the road. More and more human men are coming in on the roads. Some are idealists, others are in it for the pay. And some of them - young boys brought as squires, some as servants to the knights. They look frightened. They have never seen combat and they have never violated another man's home. They have never seen a Saracen or a Moor and they have never witnessed the harm a scimitar can cause in the hands of a father, defending his wife and children.
Cainites will, of course, take advantage of a city swollen with crusaders. Some might even join the cause, whether out of boredom or possibly from actual faith. Maybe they will mistakenly believe that by murdering in God's name and "reclaiming" an Earthly city that never belonged to them will earn them passage beyond St. Peter's gate. God grant that these my thoughts never pass into the hands who would see them as heresy and faithlessness. The Cainites will do as they must do. Most of them simply must feed.
Brother Javier will be found. Of this, I have faith. It is nearly dawn. This page, I must draw to a close.
